WTC Final 2023: ICC announces prize money, know how many crores the winner and runner-up will get

The final match of The Oval World Test Championship (WTC) in London will be played between India and Australia from June 7. This is the second time that the Indian team has reached the WTC final. However, in the last final match, India had to face defeat at the hands of New Zealand. The big question is how much the winning team of the WTC final will get as prize money. It has been announced by the Oak of ICC. According to the information given, the winner of the World Test Championship final between India and Australia will get $ 1.6 million as prize money, while the runner-up will be given $ 8 million.

There is no change in the prize money for the previous edition of the WTC, when New Zealand also earned $1.6 million. The prize money of the tournament is the same as that of the World Test Championship 2019-21. At that time the New Zealand team, captained by Kane Williamson, won $1.6 million in prize money and a glittering mace. All nine teams will get a share of the total prize money of $3.8 million for the World Test Championship. South Africa will get $450,000 for finishing third in 2021-23. England will get $350,000 for finishing fourth. Sri Lanka will be given $200,000 for finishing fifth. Rest of the teams will get one lakh dollars each.

Now it has to be seen which team manages to win the final of the World Test Championship. Will India be able to end their trophy drought in ICC tournaments or will Australia continue to dominate the multi-country events to add another trophy to their cabinet? Indian captain Rohit Sharma believes that by reaching the final of the Test Championship (WTC) for the second time in a row, the players of his team presented a great example of their spirit, especially when the team lost in the title match in 2021. Rohit said, “After the first World Test Championship final in Southampton, we immediately got together and started preparations for the next cycle.”
