Test Series: Captain KL Rahul We worked hard for this win, lead 1-0 in the two-match series

Rahul said after the match, “It was a very tough match and we had to work really hard to win. I am really glad that we did it. “He said,” The pitch was flat but we were not worried about it. It looked easy to bat on this pitch but scoring runs was not easy on the first three days.

Chittagong. After registering a massive 188-run win over Bangladesh in the first Test here on Sunday, Indian captain KL Rahul said the team worked hard for the win. India needed only four wickets on the fifth day to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series and sealed the victory by getting the remaining wickets in the first hour of the morning session. India achieved this big win despite a century partnership for the first wicket between Zakir Hossain (100) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (67).

Rahul said after the match, “It was a very tough match and we had to work really hard to win. I am really glad that we did it. “He said,” The pitch was flat but we were not worried about it. It looked easy to bat on this pitch but scoring runs was not easy on the first three days. We worked hard seeing the way Bangladesh openers batted.

Rahul said India was determined to get a favorable result after losing the ODI series 1-2 to Bangladesh. “We have been here for some time now. In the ODI series, we didn’t do as well as we wanted. We knew it was not going to be easy to win.” The Indian skipper particularly praised Cheteshwar Pujara, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant for contributing to the win. He said, “We batted well in the first innings. Shreyas and Pujara played their part well. Even Pant played a good innings. I am really happy for Gill and Pujara who took full advantage of the opportunity to score centuries.

Rahul also praised his bowlers. He said, “I am really happy with the way we bowled. The bowlers were not getting much help from the pitch but despite this they took wickets. Umesh Yadav bowled two brilliant spells to get us back in the match. We have prepared the attack here with years of hard work. They showed what they are capable of.” Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan said the pitch was good to bat on but the team did not bat well in the first innings.

In reply to India’s 404, Bangladesh were bowled out for 150 in their first innings. Shakib said, “It was a really good wicket to bat on but we did not perform well in the first innings. We were playing after five-six months. It is not an ideal situation but it should not be an excuse. Credit goes to the Indian bowlers. He bowled well with his partners and put us under pressure. We should have played good cricket on all five days of the game.

We have to do well in all the four innings to get a favorable result against India. Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav took eight for 113, his career-best performance. He said that it was difficult to get wickets on this pitch as it was flat. Kuldeep said, “To be honest, I am very happy with my performance. There was some pace on the pitch in the first innings, but wickets became challenging in the second innings. It had slowed down.
