La Liga: Another win at Atletico Madrid kept the pressure on Real Madrid

Third-placed Atletico scored three goals in the first half and two late in the second half to leave just two points behind city rivals Real Madrid with six rounds of matches to go.

Madrid. Atlético Madrid continued their impressive run of form with another big win and kept the pressure on Real Madrid for the second spot in Spanish football league La Liga. Atlético beat Valladolid 5-2 on Sunday for their eighth win in nine games. Third-placed Atletico scored three goals in the first half and two late in the second half to leave just two points behind city rivals Real Madrid with six rounds of matches to go.

Real Madrid beat Almeria 4-2 on Saturday. With this win, Atletico have 66 points from 32 matches, while Real Madrid have 68 points from the same number of matches. Barcelona is on top with 79 points from 32 matches.
