India beat Wales 4-2 to finish second in Pool D to qualify for the cross-over match where they will face New Zealand for a place in the quarter-finals of the FIH Hockey World Cup, here on Thursday. India took a 2-0 lead through Shamsher Singh (21st minute) and Akashdeep Singh (32nd minute) but Wales surprised the home team by scoring twice in two minutes.
