Gill is excited to learn from Gill

Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill is keen to learn from Wriddhiman Saha’s experience in the ongoing Indian Premier League as the veteran wicket-keeper has been in scintillating form this season. Saha has been in scintillating form for the Titans. He scored 81 off 43 balls against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday and shared a 142-run opening partnership with Gill (94 off 51 balls). Titans won the match by 56 runs. Both Saha and Gill were heading towards hundreds but failed. The partnership between the two is the second best partnership from any team in the current season.

This is the biggest partnership for the Gujarat team that joined the IPL last year. Gill said after the match, “I stand next to Saha in the slips to share his experience. The way he is playing, it is fantastic. He has been playing since the first season of IPL. “He said,” I did not get much chance to bat in the initial overs but it is important that you do not get carried away when your partner is doing well. I didn’t hit sixes in the last two matches and today I hit a few sixes. I always work on my skills.

Titans skipper Hardik Pandya said the match was balanced for long periods. He said, “After that (Rashid’s catch) the match changed, at one point I thought the match was on par. That catch was going to change the match. Both of us were running at a speed of 100 kmph as a team but that catch made his way difficult. Sunday was the first time in the IPL that two brothers Hardik and Super Giants captain Krunal Pandya were captaining the opposing teams. Krunal, however, admitted that his team gave the Titans too many chances to score runs. He said, “We gave away too many runs in the first innings. When chasing 227, you have to score big runs in every over. The pitch was really good. The batsmen said that it was a good wicket to bat on. If we had restricted them to 200-210, we would have had a chance.
