Thomas, who last played for the West Indies in August 2022, has been charged with seven charges under the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code. He was selected in the squad for the upcoming ODI series against UAE in Dubai.

The International Cricket Council has suspended West Indies batsman Devon Thomas for allegedly conspiring to fix matches in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2021 and indulging in corruption in two other franchise tournaments in the same year. Thomas, who last played for the West Indies in August 2022, has been charged with seven charges under the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code. He was selected in the squad for the upcoming ODI series against UAE in Dubai. Apart from the allegations of fixing, the 33-year-old Thomas is also accused of not providing contact information to bookies in the Abu Dhabi T10 League and the Caribbean Premier League. He has been given 14 days to reply.

“The International Cricket Council, on behalf of Sri Lanka Cricket, the Emirates Cricket Board and the Caribbean Premier League, has charged West Indies player Devon Thomas on seven counts under the Anti-Corruption Code,” the ICC said in a statement. He is being suspended with immediate effect.” The ICC also claimed that Thomas did not cooperate with anti-corruption officials during questioning. Thomas has played one Test, 21 ODIs and 12 T20Is for the West Indies.
