Mumbai Indians added the 23-year-old Green with a bid of Rs 17 crore 50 lakh. The fast bowler took his first career five-wicket haul as Australia bundled out the visitors for 189 in the first innings in the Boxing Day Test against South Africa here on Monday.

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, the second most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has said that he did not do much to get such a huge amount in the Indian Premier League auction. Mumbai Indians added the 23-year-old Green with a bid of Rs 17 crore 50 lakh. The fast bowler took his first career five-wicket haul as Australia bundled out the visitors for 189 in the first innings in the Boxing Day Test against South Africa here on Monday.

Green said the hefty contract would not change him or the way he plays cricket. Green said, “To be honest, I don’t think I’ve done enough to get that much money.” He said, “I just put my name in the auction and it happened.” It doesn’t change who I am or what I think. Hope I don’t change much. Green emerged as the second costliest player in the auction held in Kochi. Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians bid for him. England’s Sam Curran became the costliest player in IPL history. He was joined by Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore 50 lakh.
